About Fresno State Esports
At Fresno State Esports, we pride ourselves on going above and beyond. Our community is a vibrant and dynamic group of passionate Fresno State students who excel not only in competitive play but also in academics and personal growth. As a seven-time award-winning team since 2020, we continue to push the boundaries of what we can achieve.
Success and Growth
Our teams have achieved remarkable success, recently winning an NECC championship in Rocket League with an undefeated record.
We have teams competing in Valorant, Rocket League, Overwatch, and League of Legends, along with an academy Valorant team and a dedicated production team. With over 60 members strong, our organization has tripled in size since 2020 and expanded our offerings.
Future Goals
We aim to secure sponsorships, organize charity events, create high-quality merchandise, establish scholarships, and acquire new peripherals. Our ultimate goal is to create pathways for all our members as they graduate.
Achievements and Initiatives
The achievements of our members fill us with pride. A standout achievement is that of Ashley Cortez, our Student Director of Diversity and Inclusion, who was instrumental in forming the Fresno State Valorant Academy team, "Fresno State Iris," which serves female and nonbinary players. Additionally, Spencer Beair has stepped into the role of Student Director of Broadcast and Production, following Ricky Oaks' graduation. With Beair's leadership, our production team has developed internal teams for both behind-the-scenes work and casting.
Furthermore, our recent acquisition of a new production suite has empowered us to create content of superior quality for our social media channels, a testament to the dedication and expertise of our production team, Hype & Ekko.
Community Engagement
Our influence extends far beyond the Fresno State campus, reaching into the wider community to make a lasting impact. One of the key ways we do this is by supporting K-12 esports initiatives, recognizing the importance of fostering a passion for gaming, pop culture and technology from a young age. By engaging with local businesses and universities, we aim to create a network of collaboration and innovation that benefits not only our institution but also the broader community. Through partnerships and meaningful connections, we strive to cultivate a thriving ecosystem where knowledge and resources are shared for the greater good.
In addition to these initiatives, we are proud to offer internships that provide valuable hands-on experience for students interested in the fields of media, production, and business. These internships serve as a bridge between academic learning and real-world application, allowing students to develop essential skills and knowledge in a professional setting. By nurturing the next generation of talent and providing opportunities for growth and development, we are investing in the future success of our students and contributing to the advancement of these industries as a whole.
